Announcing NetBSD 1.3.1 This is the first patch release after NetBSD 1.3. NetBSD 1.3 patch releases are being made available for those NetBSD users who need bug fixes and minor enhancements (e.g., new or improved device drivers) to the NetBSD 1.3 release, but do not wish to follow NetBSD-current, which is the ongoing development release of NetBSD and as such tends to change rapidly from time to time. The NetBSD 1.3.1 release is currently available as a patch to the NetBSD 1.3 sources. The patch is available at the NetBSD ftp site: ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-1.3.1/source or at your local NetBSD mirror. The patch is called NetBSD-1.3-1.3.1.diff.gz. The sources to which this patch applies are in the NetBSD-1.3/source directory in several tar archives: those sources that can't be exported from the United States except as provided by the ITAR regulations are in the security subdirectory; all other sources are in the sets subdirectory. There are currently no patches to the security/secrsrc.tgz or sets/xsrc.tgz archives. Portmasters who choose to will be making binary releases of 1.3.1 available as time allows. These releases will be in the NetBSD-1.3.1 subdirectories corresponding to the name of the architectures on which they run. At the time of this writing, no binary patches have been done. A list of all the changes that were made in the patch release is provided in the CHANGES file in the NetBSD-1.3.1 directory. This list is fairly detailed, although some minor changes have not been specifically mentioned in the interests of brevity.
