The archive XF68_NetBSD-1.3-Atari.tar.gz contains new X servers for NetBSD Atari based on XFree 3.2. This servers run only under NetBSD 1.3. Differences to Xdaniver: - Serial mouse support - Build in screen saver - Key bell The archive contains 3 servers: XF68_FBDev for Falcon/TT XF68_SVGA for Hades with et4000/w32 XF68_W32 for Hades with et4000/w32 In the directory usr/X11R6/bin is a link called X which points to the server to use. Default is X -> XF68_FBDev. If you have a Hades change this link pointing to the server you like to use. The XFree servers are configured using the file usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XF86Config. The default file in this archive is this for the FBDev server. At a Hades copy one of the other samples (XF86Config.SVGA_sample or XF86Config.W32_sample) to XF86Config. The manuals an other docs are those from XFree86. There is currently no special documentation on XFree68 availabel, but most of this manuals should be ok for the XF68 servers. Special notes: The default keyboard mapping is (should be) the one needed for a US keyboard. For german users there is a xmodmap.ge, which can be found in usr/X11R6/lib/X11/etc. Load this map with xmodmap to get a proper mapping for german keyboards. For other languages I have no mapping, but if one can send one to me, I will put it to the next release of this archive. At all XF86Config Alt is mapped to Mode_switch. This is needed to get the german keyboard work properly. If you dislike this unkomment the Line 'LeftAlt ModeShift'. The FBDev server uses view devices like the old Xdaniver. To use X you must have at least one more view as ite configured at our kernel config file. At TT-high the switch -flipPixels is not needed anymore. TT low does not work at a TT (it only works at a Falcon). The SVGA and W32 server uses the grf device. Default is /dev/grf0. To use another device one can use the switch -grfdev . At the FBDev server zoom does not work (disabled). This is due to the lack of virtual resolutions in the kernel drivers. At all servers switching to the console while the server is running is not supported. If your X installation uses compressed fonts uncompress all fonts befor runing any of the X servers.
